Our team

Biointrant is a team of researchers, scientists and entrepreneurs, with a unique expertise, committed to respecting the societal and environmental constraints of modern agriculture.
Renaud Nalin
PhD-MBA
Founder and CEO

Renaud has more than thirty years of international experience in the field of life sciences. Before founding Biointrant, Renaud was the founder and CSO of TBE (1998-2001) and Libragen (2001-2004). Solicited by shareholders, he became CEO/CSO of Libragen (2004-2013) until 2013 when he sold the company to the Swiss cosmetics group Induchem, now Givaudan. After the company's incorporation into the group in 2013, Renaud left Libragen to develop an operational consulting activity enabling him to invest in numerous innovative projects on behalf of manufacturers and research centres such as INSERM and CEA.
Renaud obtained a PhD in Microbial Ecology from the University of Lyon/UC Davis (1997) and an Executive MBA from EM-Lyon (Lyon Business School) in France in 2000.
Renaud is a guest lecturer in the field of biotechnology and technology transfer at various universities and engineering schools. He is the author of more than thirty scientific articles and 9 patent applications and patents.
Nicolas Chabert
PhD
Founder and Lab Manager

Passionate about microbiology, Nicolas obtained a doctorate in microbial ecology applied to biotechnologies under the supervision of Dr. Wafa Achouak (CEA/LEMiRE) and focusing on microbial fuel cells. He has thus been able to develop scientific expertise in this field but also organisational and managerial skills. Having largely participated in the implementation of this theme within the laboratory, Nicolas was involved not only in the organization of the laboratory necessary for his research, but also in the training of personnel in this theme. He was co-responsible for a collaborative program funded by the ANR, which he successfully completed, demonstrating his ability to monitor and manage projects, comply with specifications and disseminate results.
Félix Heulin
PhD
Business Developer

Félix holds an MSc in finance and management from Toulouse Business School. He first worked as an analyst at the M&A firm Mansartis, specializing in the mid-market. He then devoted himself to supporting innovative companies, first as a start up advisor at Finamatic on development and fund raising issues, then on financing issues within the risk department of Bpifrance. Finally, before joining BioIntrant, Félix completed his career by gaining international experience by taking charge of the search for acquisitions for Indigo Group in Canada.
Joris Tulumello
Ms
PhD Student

Joris is a doctoral student in genetics and bioinformatics in partnership with Biointrant and the Institute of Biosciences and Biotechnologies (BIAM). Having started his work on the identification of genes involved in the establishment of an actinorhizal symbiosis, he took the opportunity to learn about programming in order to combine bioinformatics, mathematics and biology. It is at the au laboratoire d’Ecologie Microbienne de la Rhizosphère et Environnement Extrême (LEMiRE) that he was able to continue his training with the study of bacterial metabolome and metagenome of the rhizosphere, supported by Mohamed Baraka, Philippe Ortet and Catherine Santaella. It is with this expertise that he began his thesis to explore the genome of so-called PGPR bacteria in order to implement tools for predicting bacterial functions.
Justine Long
MS
Bioinformatician

Justine is a bioinformatics engineer with a master's degree in bioinformatics and genomics. The two years spent at the Laboratoire d'Écologie Microbienne de la Rhizosphère et de l'Environnement Extrême (LEMIRE) of CEA Cadarache, first as an intern and then as a bioinformatics engineer, gave her access to a significant amount of data from bacterial strain sequencing technology. Under the supervision of Mohamed Barakat and Philippe Ortet, she was thus able to learn how to use and develop tools used in the analysis of massive genomic and proteomic data, how to store this information in databases and how to extract relevant information from these databases.
Julie Rodriguez
Technician

Julie is a laboratory technician who specialized in molecular biology and microbiology for more than three years in the LBM Infectious Diseases Unit at the "Institut hospitalo-universitaire" (IHU) in Marseille.
She then moved into the field of research, integrating the Laboratoire d'Écologie Microbienne de la Rhizosphère et de l'Environnement Extrême (LEMIRE) at the CEA in Cadarache, as part of several projects and was able to deepen her skills.
Charlotte Descamp

Production manager

With a background in bioprocessing, Charlotte has been working in the private sector for the last few years on the development and continuous optimization of fermentation, concentration and drying processes. Her professional career in various companies such as Xurian Environnement and Elephant Vert has allowed her to deepen her skills in the field of industrial microbiology for the environment.
